Samo rice/Vrat ke Chawal:

- ½ cup samo rice
- 2 tsp ghee
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp kala namak/rock salt
- ½ tsp black pepper powder
- 1 big size potato, diced
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- 2 cloves
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 Black cardamom
- Few roasted peanuts
- 3-4 curry leaves
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method:
- Heat up ghee; add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cloves, cardamoms and cinnamon. Stir till aroma arises and cumin splutters.
- Add in curry leaves,peanuts, potato and rice. Stir-fry till they look a bit fried. Mix in salt, pepper powder and 2 cups water, and bring to a boil. Lower the flame and simmer, covered, for about 15 minutes or till cooked through and the water is absorbed. Add more water if not cooked.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with a dollop of ghee.
